Yeldham to Head Aspen Int’l. Insurance

Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited has appointed Matthew Yeldham as Head of International Insurance, a new role within the Company. He assumes responsibility for “all specialty and insurance products sold outside the United States,” said the bulletin

Yeldham is currently Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer for the Lloyd’s business at Catlin, a position he assumed when Wellington Underwriting plc was acquired by Catlin in 2006.

He joined Wellington in 1992 and began his underwriting career in Lloyd’s Syndicate 672 IC Agnew and Others. He was named Underwriting Director responsible for Casualty and Marine Underwriting in 2001 and became Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer in 2006. Catlin acquired Wellington in 2006.

Yeldham will be based in Aspen’s London office and will assume his role in October 2007. He will report directly to Aspen’s CEO Chris O’Kane, who commented: “I have known Matt for many years and am delighted he has chosen to join Aspen. I look forward to working with him again.”

Yeldham indicated that he ” has the “highest regard for Chris and the Aspen team, and am excited by the opportunity to contribute to Aspen’s growth in the insurance business.”
