Arch Capital Group announced that Gordon (Gord) Kerr has accepted the position of CEO and Chief Agent of Arch Insurance Group’s Canadian insurance operations.
Arch Insurance Group is a division of Arch Capital Group. The bulletin noted that Kerr previously served as COO of American International Group’s Canadian commercial insurance operations.
“We are extremely pleased to have someone of Gord’s caliber, experience level and outstanding reputation join our executive team,” stated Mark Lyons, Chairman and CEO of Arch Worldwide Insurance Group. “Our Canadian strategy involves selective expansion, and Gord has the deep knowledge of this marketplace to profitably execute that strategy.”
“It became clear to me that Arch’s strategy and approach to business is one of discipline and execution,” Kerr commented. “I look forward to profitably growing Arch’s book and presence in Canada.”
