XL Insurance, the global insurance operations of XL Capital, announced from London the appointment of Neil Robertson as head of its global Equine operation, and Ian Hull as Equine Underwriter in London.
“The Equine team has specialist equine underwriters in London and Kentucky,” said the bulletin. “Neil Robertson will head this team in conjunction with his role as global head of Fine Art & Specie, a position which he has held for 7 years. Neil has been with the Group since 1992 and in the market since 1985.
Ian Hull has over 20 years’ experience in the bloodstock industry and had previously joined XL to lead the bloodstock claims team.”
Dermot O’Donohoe, Chief Underwriting Officer, Global Specialty at XL Insurance, noted: “Neil’s appointment brings together the joint oversight of our Fine Art & Specie and Equine teams. There are many synergies between the operations, in the form of their business models, and most importantly the client base.
“We remain strongly committed to our high service levels, with specialist underwriters for both lines of business. Neil’s holistic overview will enable him to focus on offering our high net-worth clients a truly integrated approach for their insurance needs.”
