Guy Carpenter Establishes New Facultative Team in Iberia

Guy Carpenter & Co, the global risk and reinsurance specialist of Marsh & McLennan, announced the formation of a new dedicated facultative team in Iberia. Alejandro Ramirez, Senior Vice President, Artur Castany, Senior Vice President, and Antoni Galí, Assistant Vice President, have joined Guy Carpenter as members of the new Iberian team, which also includes Marta Mateos, Vice President.

Ramirez is an actuary with more than 15 years of experience in the reinsurance industry. He joins Guy Carpenter from Brex Re and previously worked at Guy Carpenter Iberia in the Treaty department.

Castany brings over 22 years of underwriting and insurance experience to the team and was most recently Technical Manager at Brex Re. Galí is an industrial engineer with two years of reinsurance broking experience. Mateos has more than 17 years of reinsurance underwriting and broking experience and has been with Guy Carpenter for seven years.

The team will operate from offices in Madrid and Barcelona. Ramirez will head the team, and will report to Artur Reñé, CEO of Guy Carpenter Iberia. The new group will “focus on expanding Guy Carpenter’s facultative business in the region while serving existing clients,” said the bulletin.
