Specialty insurer Markel International has reorganized its retail division (Markel UK).
Steve Carroll, who has been responsible for the expansion of Markel UK since its formation in 1990, has been appointed to a wider retail role. A Markel International board member, Carroll is now director of retail and the overall head of all Markel International’s retail businesses both in the UK and overseas.
Simon Fell has been promoted to divisional managing director of Markel UK, succeeding Carroll in his former role. Fell has also been with Markel UK since its launch and has played a significant role in its growth.
