Everest Re Names Addesso President; Doucette Chief Underwriting Officer

The Bermuda-based Everest Re Group announced that Dominic J. Addesso has been promoted to President. He joined Everest two years ago as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his employment with the Company, he was President of Regional Markets for Munich Re America.

Everest Re also said it would initiate a search for a new Chief Financial Officer. Until that search is completed, Addesso will continue in that role.

The Company also announced that John Doucette has been promoted to Chief Underwriting Officer for Worldwide Reinsurance. He joined Everest three years ago as Executive Vice President. His responsibilities have included managing the Company’s U.S. Property, Marine and Aviation Operations as well as overseeing Enterprise Risk Management and Actuarial Pricing. Prior to joining Everest Doucette was President of Property & Casualty Reinsurance for Max Capital.

Chairman and CEO Joseph Taranto noted Addesso’s “wealth of experience on both the financial and operational sides of our business,” adding that he is an “outstanding leader with the highest integrity. It has been a pleasure working with him as CFO, and I look forward to working with him as President.”

Taranto described Doucette as an “incredibly talented, intelligent, and productive executive,” adding that “our underwriting operations will greatly benefit from his guidance and management.”
