Travelers announced that it has added increased underwriting expertise to its UK, Ireland and Lloyd’s businesses with the appointment of two new Chief Underwriting Officers (CUO’s). The new CUO’s complement the appointments last year of Nick Rnjak and David Bourke.
Ian Helmore has been appointed CUO, Business Insurance, and Steven Pollock is appointed CUO, Professional Risks, for Travelers Insurance Company Ltd. in the UK.
Helmore joins Travelers from Aon where he was Client, Technical and Operational Director. Pollock joins from Brit Insurance where he was Portfolio Manager for Professions.
Travelers noted that the new appointments are in addition to those of Rnjak and Bourke, who were appointed CUO for Travelers Syndicate Management Ltd. (Syndicate 5000) and CUO for Travelers Insurance Company Ltd. in Ireland, respectively.
Travelers said the “creation of the Chief Underwriting Officer roles for the four distinct parts of the Travelers business in the UK and Ireland is part of a commitment to further strengthen underwriting excellence following the appointment of Sean Genden as CEO for Travelers Europe in April.”
Genden stated: “We have a great opportunity to build upon our existing capabilities in the markets where we compete. The Chief Underwriting Officer role will play a fundamental part in that building process as we look to better serve our agents and customers.”
