Ex-Aon Benfield Chairman Charlie Cantlay is to join the Board of Directors of AIG’s Lloyd’s Syndicate, Ascot Underwriting, as Executive Director starting 3rd October. Ascot manages Lloyd’s Syndicate 1414.
Cantlay resigned as Chairman of Aon Benfield UK earlier this year. Reacting to his new post, he explained that he has “watched with admiration as Ascot has grown its business since inception in 2001 and am excited at the prospect of helping drive future opportunities working with a team for whom I have the greatest respect.”
Ascot’s Chief Executive Andrew Brooks noted that Cantlay had chosen to join the company “from the multitude of opportunities he had. With his reputation and the caliber of his experience he will play a fundamental role in driving our strategic objectives.”
