Bermuda-based Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd announced that Rene Lamer will assume the role of Senior Vice President and Head of U.S. Property Catastrophe Treaty Reinsurance.
He is a Bermuda citizen, and will continue to report to Stephen Young, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Catastrophe Reinsurance.
Young described Lamer as a “very talented executive,” indicating that he is well versed in “structuring and pricing both traditional and alternative reinsurance programs. His extensive experience with catastrophe models and his strong underwriting capabilities have contributed to the Property Catastrophe group’s overall success. We are looking forward to Rene taking on a broader role within the Bermuda Reinsurance team.”
Lamer joined Endurance in March 2002 as a catastrophe analyst within our Bermuda based Property Catastrophe Reinsurance team and was promoted to Vice President of U.S. Property Catastrophe Treaty Reinsurance in 2006. In 2008 he assumed additional responsibilities as Head of Catastrophe Linked Products focusing on alternative catastrophe reinsurance. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
