Flightsurance can now be purchased in the UK and Ireland, offering airline passengers €1 million in worldwide accident coverage.
This coverage is now available to business and leisure travelers in 27 EU states and valid on more than 230 airlines worldwide. The coverage is backed by two major international insurance and reinsurance groups: QBE and Swiss Re.
With this coverage, airline passengers can increase the existing maximum limit of liability for personal injury coverage offered by airlines, which is just €125,000 according to the Montreal Convention. The payout amount is not restricted or reduced by other insurance policies.
Flightsurance covers passengers on the flight itself, as well as the entire time between the boarding gates and arrival at the destination airport, including transfers.
The insurance coverage can be purchased in most cases on the Flightsurance Website at a rate of €6.99 for a one-way flight and €9.99 for a round-trip. The product expands through Europe, the United States, China, Japan, India, Canada, Indonesia and other countries.
