I’m sure China is very interested… in stopping their people from knowing the news, reading about historic events, or accessing information about groups, religions, leaders, or ideas that the state deems unhelpful. This can be anything from Buddhism, to Falon Gong, to Tibet, to Tianenman, to the word ‘Ferrari’ (when a communist party boss’s son was reported to have spectacularly wrecked a Ferrari), to artists- even favored ones that built the famed Birds Nest arena for the Olympics.

And the U.S. is interested as well, quite interested, in expanding legal liability and slowly squeezing the free and open internet into a monitored, censored media which benefits incumbents and limits new entrants.
