Aon plc. announced that Dominic Christian, CEO of Aon UK Ltd and Executive Chairman of International at Aon Benfield, has been elected to the Council of Lloyd’s for a three-year term beginning February 1, 2014.
The Council of Lloyd’s is the body responsible for the management and supervision of the London-based Lloyd’s insurance market. Christian will be a working member of the Council.
Aon’s President and CEO Greg Case congratulated him on the appointment, adding that it “demonstrates Aon’s level of commitment to the London market and Lloyd’s.”
Prior to his current Aon executive duties Christian served as co-CEO at Aon Benfield, where he was responsible for developing and executing global strategies for the business. During his career, he has also held positions as Group Board Director of Benfield Group plc., CEO of Benfield Group plc.’s International Division, and CEO of Benfield Limited.
