Tokio Millennium Re (TMR), the Zurich-based global reinsurer and subsidiary of Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd., announced that Hans-Peter Gerhardt has been appointed to its Board of Directors as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
TMR’s Board Chairman Ian Brimecome welcomed Gerhardt to the Board, noting: “As we continue to enhance our business, we look forward to the knowledge and insight that Peter will bring from his more than 30 years of reinsurance experience.” said
Gerhardt was the founding CEO of Paris Re, which was later acquired by PartnerRe. Prior to that, he was the CEO of AXA Re and also served as Chairman of AXA Liabilities Managers. Before joining AXA, Gerhardt worked at Cologne Re (which later merged into General Cologne Re) where he held various underwriting and management positions. He began his reinsurance career at Hannover Re.
