Allied World Assurance Co. Holdings announced that Michael Herron was appointed vice president, Professional Liability – Allied World Global Markets.
Based in Sydney, Australia, Herron will be responsible for the growth and development of the company’s Australian professional liability business. He will report to Ben Howell, senior vice president, Australia country manager and head of Professional Liability Division, Asia Pacific.
Herron has 22 years of experience in professional liability insurance. He has previously held regional underwriting management roles with global insurers, most recently based in Sydney at XL Catlin where he was Australasia leader for financial lines
Michael Garrison, senior vice president of Asia-Pacific for Allied World Global Markets, commented “Michael brings significant industry experience and a proven track record in professional liability insurance. He is a valuable addition to our team and will build on the great work done to date expanding our presence in an important market.”
Howell said, “We are delighted to have someone of Michael’s caliber and standing in the industry join our expanding Australian team. It is a great start to what promises to be an exciting year for Allied World in Australia.”
