James Beedle will be appointed to the position of head of Asia-Pacific and CEO of Partner Reinsurance Asia Pte. Ltd. to head up PartnerRe’s business operations in that region.
Subject to regulatory approval, Beedle will take up his position on January 1, 2017 replacing outgoing head of Asia-Pacific, Alain Flandrin, who has been with the company for 14 years and will leave after a short transition period to pursue other personal and professional interests.
Beedle will be responsible for leading the development of PartnerRe’s business in Asia-Pacific. He will report to Tad Walker, CEO of PartnerRe’s Property and Casualty segment and Group Executive Committee member.
Beedle comes to PartnerRe from Willis Re where he was senior managing director of Willis Re Asia-Pacific based in Singapore. He has experience in the Asia-Pacific region first as chief operating officer of Willis Re Australia, and then as CEO of Willis Re Japan. In his most recent position, his responsibilities extended from Japan to Indonesia, covering Australia, New Zealand, China, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore and Brunei.
In his new role, Beedle will continue to be based in Singapore.
