ArgoGlobal announced the appointment of Karen Montellier as yacht underwriter. She takes up the role with immediate effect and will report to Michael Thompson, hull and yacht class underwriter.
Montellier brings more than 25 years’ experience in the marine sector to ArgoGlobal. She joins from Endurance at Lloyd’s where she served as a marine underwriter. In this role, she was tasked with underwriting a global yacht portfolio and, in a three-year period, succeeded in significantly increasing the size of the book. Prior to this, she held the role of assistant hull and liability underwriter at Swiss Re. Montellier began her career at Eagle Star Re, where she served as a marine claims adjuster.
“Our yacht portfolio is a key line of business for ArgoGlobal, and we are committed to expanding our presence in areas where technical expertise and specialist underwriting act as a differentiator,” said Thompson.
