Volante Launches Nordic-Focused MGA, Bridge Underwriting, Led by QBE’s Lindberg

Volante Global Ltd., a new multi-class and multi-territory international managing general agent (MGA) platform, has announced the launch of Bridge Underwriting AB, a Stockholm-based specialist underwriting MGA.

Bridge Underwriting, which will begin underwriting in March, will offer relevant lines sizes across a diverse range of business lines in the Nordic region. The product portfolio will include: property, liability, financial lines and commercial combined insurance solutions.

The company’s “AA+” capacity was secured by Volante’s capacity intermediary, Aon Benfield, led by Nick Frankland’s team including Vijay Mavani, Rob Sharp and Linley Ah-Chung.

Bridge Underwriting is being led by Torkel Lindberg who was named managing director. Lindberg is an experienced and respected figure in the Nordic insurance sector with over 25 years of market experience spanning both the underwriting and broking communities. Most recently, he was general manager for the Nordic region at QBE Insurance, and prior to this held senior positions at both Marsh and Willis in Sweden.

Operating on Volante’s highly automated, fully integrated, end-to-end operating infrastructure will ensure that Bridge Underwriting delivers efficiency “at all stages in the process, from initial proposal through to policy issuance.”

The launch of Bridge Underwriting closely follows that of Edison Motor, a UK commercial motor specialist MGA which launched on the Volante platform in January.
