March 20, 2018

Gallagher Bassett, the risk management services subsidiary of Arthur J. Gallagher, announced that Simon Pemberton will step into the role of CEO, Gallagher Bassett UK, on April 1, 2018.

Nick Bonser, the current Gallagher Bassett (GB) UK managing director, announced he will retire from the business after 15 years of service. Noting his strong belief that GB is poised for a period of rapid growth, Bonser “feels that now is the time to deploy the robust succession plan GB already has in place,” said the company in a statement. He will stay with GB until June 2018, to ensure a smooth transition.

Pemberton has held various roles at GB since April 2000 when he joined the company. He currently is sales and marketing director, a position he has held since January 2013, according to his LinkedIn profile. Other GB roles were director of sales, business development manager and London claims manager. Prior to his tenure at GB, he held claims roles at Zurich Insurance and RSA Insurance, the profile said.

Jon Winsbury, executive vice president of Gallagher Bassett International, said: “Simon has been a strong leader within the UK business for a long time. He has worked his way up through the ranks in both operational and sales functions, so he has a very strong understanding of all facets of our business. Simon has excellent relationships with our clients, teammates and the wider broker and carrier markets and the total confidence of our UK and global leadership.”
