Fitzgerald, Chief of Broking, Exits Aon After 27 Years

January 30, 2019

Global insurance broker Aon reported that Tom Fitzgerald is leaving the firm after 27 years of service.

Fitzgerald most recently served as chief executive of Aon Broking, and before that he led the U.S. Commercial Risk and Health businesses.

Aon said Fitzgerald will immediately transition his responsibilities and Aon will not replace his role.

No reason was given for the departure.

Greg Case, chief executive officer of Aon, called Fitzgerald “a global thinker with a proven track record of industry-leading innovation” and said the firm recognizes wishes him well.

“It has been an absolute privilege to serve Aon for over 27 years,” said Fitzgerald. “I began my professional career at Aon and the firm has left an indelible mark on me. I’m grateful for the partnership from colleagues and clients around the world, and energized by the idea of starting the next chapter of my career.”

Fitzgerald was named CEO of Aon Broking in 2016. He previously led the Aon Risk Solutions U.S. Retail business as CEO. He also served as chief broking officer for Aon’s U.S. Commercial Risk, president of Aon Private Risk Management and he spearheaded Aon’s entry into the technology industry with the creation of the Aon Risk Solutions Technology Practice.
