In the early days of jet travel, there were three fatal crashes of de Havilland Comet aircraft.
Their engineers identified and designed remedies for the bulkhead and window deficiencies which caused the crashes. Nevertheless, the company decided to ground exiting fleet and abandon aircraft model. It is interesting that Boeing places corporate greed over reputation and safety and is pressing to get their ill fated Max faircraft again in the air.
