Amynta Group, the New York-based insurance services provider, announced the completion of the previously announced acquisition of Sutton Special Risk Inc., a managing general underwriter (MGU) of specialty insurance and reinsurance products in Toronto, Canada.
Financial details of the deal, which was first announced in December 2023, were not disclosed.
Sutton, founded in 1978, offers its clients a range of accident and health coverages, including personal accident, disability, critical illness, and specialty coverages focused on professional sports and entertainment.
Sutton managed premiums of C$65 million (US$48.2 million) for the 12 months ended Sept. 30, 2023 (amounts in Canadian dollars). Greg Sutton, president & CEO of Sutton for over 12 years, will continue to lead Sutton.
