Aon Names Chisholm as Chairman of Asia Reinsurance Solutions
Insurance broker Aon plc named Simon Chisholm as chairman of Asia for Reinsurance Solutions, effective January 1, 2026.
In this role, Chisholm will lead the Reinsurance Solutions’ Global Clients Segment for the Asia region, with a continued focus on deepening relationships with key clients in Japan and Thailand.
With nearly four decades of experience — including leadership roles supporting Aon’s largest global reinsurance clients — Chisholm brings a unique ability to align client needs with strategic solutions across diverse markets in Asia, Europe, and the U.S.
His appointment reinforces Aon’s commitment to delivering tailored insights and value to multinational clients navigating complex risk landscapes. Based in Singapore, Chisholm will report to Soeren Soltysiak, CEO of Reinsurance Solutions in Asia.
“Simon plays a central role on our Japan and Asia teams, partnering with many of the region’s largest insurers to deliver client value and support better decision-making,” commented Rupert Moore, APAC CEO for Reinsurance Solutions at Aon.
“With his extensive experience at Aon and its legacy companies, and deep knowledge of both Asia and global markets, he is a natural fit for this role,” Moore added.

Markel Appoints Luxford as Head of Distribution and MGA Strategy, Australia
Markel Insurance, the insurance operations within Markel Group Inc., announced the appointment of Scott Luxford as head of Distribution and Managing General Agent (MGA) Strategy – Australia, with immediate effect.
Based in Sydney, Luxford will be responsible for working with Australian-based brokers, MGAs and other distribution partners to identify opportunities and highlight how they can benefit from the scale of Markel’s trading relationships. His appointment continues Markel’s approach to having a strong local presence in Australia, with on-the-ground capabilities to support new and existing Australian brokers and customers.
Luxford will also be part of Markel’s growing global wholesale distribution strategy and broker development team, led by Dan Martin, managing director – Distribution Strategies & Business Development, which has been focused on creating new opportunities and deepening relationships by building trust and relevance with key international MGAs.
He reports to Rory Morison, managing director – Australia.
Luxford joins Markel from Harland Green, where he was head of Distribution and part of the founding team. Prior to that, he was executive director of 360 Professional and Financial Risks, where he founded and grew the business to a fully operational specialist financial lines underwriting agency.
Luxford has also held senior leadership roles at QBE Australia and Zurich Financial Services Australia, prior to which he was employed in senior financial lines underwriting roles at Allianz Australia Ltd. and ACE Group (now Chubb).
