In the race for Kansas Governor, Democrat and present Insurance Commissioner, Kathleen Sebelius, captured the nomination with 53 percent (435,462) of the vote. Republican Tim Shallenburger garnered 45 percent (371,325) of the vote.
Republican Sandy Praeger will be the next Insurance Commissioner of Kansas after capturing Tuesday’s election.
With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Praeger had 57 percent (451,838) of the vote to Democrat Jim Garner’s 43 percent (339,912).
