Mich. Hylant Group Merges with R.W. Barss and Associates

Michigan-based the Hylant Group, Inc., has announced a merger with R.W. Barss and Associates of Grand Rapids, Mich. The merger will create Hylant’s third Michigan office and its tenth location overall.

According to the company’s written statement, R.W. Barss is an 18-year-old benefits insurance agency founded and since operated by Bob Barss. The agency will continue operations under the Hylant name. Len Dyer will act as office president leading the group’s business development in property and casualty accounts. Barss, acting as office vice president, along with Client Executive Sue Swanson, will continue to serve existing clients in the Grand Rapids area.

“Joining the Hylant Group gives our group deeper resources and greater leverage to enhance service to our existing clients,” Barss said. “We chose Hylant because they fit our culture and business philosophy quite well. The name has changed, but how we will continue to personally serve clients will not.”
