The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) has announced that Mark Johnston has joined the association as state affairs manager for the Midwest region. Johnston is a former health insurance lobbyist from St. Louis, Mo.
Johnston will advocate on behalf of NAMIC member companies before state legislatures and insurance departments in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, and South Dakota.
Johnston will assist in NAMIC’s continuing efforts to effect change in the states by working in collaboration with state insurance trade associations – a core principle of NAMIC’s advocacy philosophy. His territory includes many states formerly serviced by Joe Thesing, who now serves as NAMIC’s director of state affairs.
Johnston will work from St. Louis.
