This may or may not have anything to do with your article, but I have a question regarding trucker insurance.

I personally know a Wisconsin trucker who drives without insurance on his rig. He recently rearended a car while talking on his phone. Can he legally be driving with no insurance? This fellow continues to drive, despite other accidents, one of which was a rollover. I have to have insurance, why doesn’t he?

Commercial vehicles are required to have liability coverage, the same as personal autos.

Whether or not he is personally responsible for maintaining the insurance coverage depends on whether he owns the vehicle or is a company driver.

    That’s it in a nutshell.
