Fire the moron who can’t compile a decent estimate of damages, then fire the idiot who located the buildings in a flood plain in the first place. This is simply an excuse to build a new facility. $225M in demolition is absured, particularly in Iowa. Is it really worth $743M for a small number of students to learn how to sing, dance, and paint? When high schools have money problems the first things to go are music and art. I never thought Iowa was a hotbed of artistic talent.

Yes, I am certain that you never thought Iowa was a hotbed of artistic talent.

I am positive that you never considered the contribution of anything outside of your little town, where ever that might be Dread.

The buildings being considerd are in some cases less than 20 yards from the waters edge and in some cases are over 50 years old.
Yes, I can see how firing the people who made the decisions to put these building near the river BEFORE YOU WERE BORN will be of use. Good suggestion.

The Hancher auditorium is a well known building with a reputation amongst performance venues of having superior accoustics & a great tradition of performers. The University of Iowa theater department is also nationally known as being a solid theater department.

Just because you don’t believe the price tag doesn’t mean that it isn’t an honest estimate, particularly for a demolition job so close to a major waterway.

Dread, get off of your ” Why is Iowa a state, it is a waste of space” horse & go back to work. You are only looking stupid.
