The Ohio Insurance Agent Education Advisory Council will hold a meeting on May 19, 2010, at 10 a.m. The agenda includes a discussion on revisions to Ohio Administrative Code.
The Insurance Agent Education Advisory Council has 12 appointed members who represent the department’s various stakeholder groups.
Currently, the council consists of representatives from the Ohio Association of Life Underwriters, the Independent Insurance Agents of Ohio, the Ohio Association of Health Underwriters, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Ohio Insurance Institute, the Professional Insurance Agents Association, Cincinnati Insurance, AARP, the Ohio Bail Agents Association and the Ohio Land Title Association. All 12 members of the Council have voting privileges and are appointed by the Director of Insurance.
A designee of the Director serves as chairperson of the Council and is responsible for scheduling meetings as they are needed.
Council members have input on Ohio’s licensing requirements, licensing fees, pre-licensing and continuing education course content, and licensing examination requirements. The Council members additionally assist the department in developing administrative rules to coincide with Ohio’s licensing laws.
The meeting is open to the public and takes place in the Ohio Department of Insurance’s Public Hearing Room, located at 50 W. Town Street, Suite 300, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
