Ohio-based Huntington Bank has named Paul Baldwin president of Huntington Insurance. He reports to Mark Thompson, senior executive vice president of Huntington Bank.
Baldwin brings more than 21 years of executive insurance experience in commercial brokerage, strategic planning, underwriting, market development and wholesaling. Most recently, Baldwin was senior vice president and regional managing director of the southwest region for Wells Fargo Insurance Services.
Baldwin also served as chief operating officer and divisional managing director of a Wells Fargo Insurance Services sister company, American E & S Insurance Brokers, where he developed relationships between Wells Fargo Insurance offices and other insurance markets.
Baldwin began his insurance career in 1990 with Universal Underwriters Group, a Zurich Insurance Co., as a producer, then regional manager, in Michigan. In those roles, he specialized in automobile dealership insurance, inventory, finance, warranty and business succession. Additionally, he consulted with GMAC, Ford Motor Credit, and more than a dozen state auto dealership associations nationally.
He also served as regional manager of Automobile Dealer Specialty Risk for Federated Service Company overseeing a 10-state western region and as vice president of business development for AON Risk Services.
Baldwin succeeds former Huntington Insurance president Peter Dunlap, who was named national sales manager for Huntington Wealth Advisors.
