Officials in southern Iowa are giving residents the green light to drive golf carts on city streets.
The Ottumwa Courier reports the Eddyville City Council approved an ordinance this week that will allow residents to drive golf carts on city streets from dawn to dusk. They must be 18 or older and buy an annual $25 permit.
Drivers will still need proof of insurance, as well as brakes, a slow moving vehicle sign and a tall flag. Headlights and taillights will not be required.
The newspaper reports the speed limit will be 25 mph.
