This is a canary in the coal mine for anyone paying attention. For me, this line sums up the situation well: “It’s very difficult to get information that you feel you can trust,” Pilcher-Cook said. This new crop of GOP politicians would view as ‘untrustworthy’ the claim that water is wet, should such a claim deviate in the slightest from their rigid political doctrine. Not only will such obstinate refusal to accept reality result in the ultimate demise of the Republican brand, but it will continue to inflict untold suffering and damage to people, states, systems and the nation.
I find this article very sad. Will the GOP allow itself to be savaged by self-serving firebrands? Only time will tell. But the voices of reason, logic and moderation are currently being drowned out by the fascist wing of the party.
Even the House Speaker realizes it. Unfortunately, he doesn’t wield as much power as the likes of Rush Limbaugh. It’s amazing how much credence the Republican extremists place on a high-school dropout. The Tealiban is oblivious to the reality that they are shooting themselves in the foot.
I admire people who stand for what they believe and are willing to articulate it openly. We should never suppress thoughtful opinions.

Pilchner-Cook is the new Republican, lie and continue to lie, the new Republican principle.
