Zachary J.C. Anshutz, assistant commissioner at the Kansas Insurance Department, will be leaving his post to join Advisors Excel LLC, a Topeka-based independent insurance marketing organization, Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger announced.
Anshutz will be director of regulatory affairs and chief compliance officer for Advisors Excel. He will begin his duties at the company in late December or early January.
Praeger, who announced her decision to retire earlier this year, said Anshutz would be assisting her “in the transition from my stewardship as commissioner to the stewardship of Commissioner-elect Ken Selzer.”
Anshutz has been assistant commissioner at KID since December 2012. During that time he has also been the department’s human resources director. Prior to that he was the department’s general counsel for two years and had previously been a department staff attorney for two additional years.
