Cell usage is totally out of control in our society. There should be stiff penalties for talking and texting while driving. It is every bit as dangerous as DUI and Marijuana use since it impairs the ability to drive safely.

I would agree stiff penalties, but jail time? Our jails are already over crowded. Loss of driving privilege is where I would start. Move on to loss of assets & future earnings.

How about a very stiff fine for the first offense if an accident was not involved? Second offense, loss of license with a stiffer fine. If a serious at fault accident happens due to inattentive driving by cell use, prosecute the h – – – out of them with jail time. Publicize accidents and maybe the cell addicts will get the message.
