Gov. Bruce Rauner says he will appoint the acting commissioner of the Connecticut Insurance Department to be director of the Illinois Department of Insurance.
Rauner’s office made the announcement on May 29 about Anne Melissa Dowling. She has worked in the insurance industry for nearly 30 years and led day-to-day operations of all divisions of the Connecticut agency.
Dowling also served as board members of Connecticut’s state-based public health insurance exchange called Access Health CT.
Dowling worked in the private sector for 25 years, spending time in executive roles at MassMutual and Connecticut Mutual.
