James Kennedy, CEO of the Ohio Mutual Insurance Group, was named the recipient of the 2015 Griffith Insurance Education Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award for his career-long dedication to education and support of the foundation.
The award presentation took place Sept. 28 during the Merit Society Luncheon at National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies’ 120th Annual Convention in San Diego.
Kennedy has dedicated 43 years to the insurance industry, the last 13 as leader of the Ohio Mutual Insurance Group.
Kennedy was recognized as the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010 and as the Insurance Industry Person of the Year in 2006 by the Professional Insurance Agents Association of Ohio.
Kennedy also serves as a member of the Griffith’s Leadership Council and is a former board chairman of NAMIC and the Ohio Insurance Institute.
The Griffith Insurance Education Foundation, an affiliate of The Institutes, is a not-for-profit educational organization that promotes the study and teaching of risk management and all lines of insurance through educational programs targeting students and public policymakers.
