Rockhill Insurance Group Names Abney, Upton to Leadership Positions

Rockhill Insurance Group, a member of Columbus, Ohio-based State Auto Insurance Group, has tapped Jack Abney to lead its environmental underwriting unit as vice president – environmental.

Rockhill also announced it has named Tracy Upton to lead its new E&S property unit.

Abney has worked in Rockhill’s general binding and business development units, and will continue to work with Rockhill trading partners and work with the entire Rockhill team to develop new products and product enhancements. He has a history with the National Environmental Coverage Corp. (NECC) and an expertise in environmental products and underwriting.

Upton is a 30-year insurance veteran with a specialization in startup programs and operations. He comes to Rockhill from Everest National, where he successfully established and led its wholesale property operations over the past 10 years.

Upton was previously a foundational leader of the E&S property and inland marine division of Colony Insurance Group, and successfully developed the urban revitalization building and neighborhood program at the St. Paul Companies. At St. Paul, Upton received an Inland Marine Underwriters Association national award. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
