Depends… how much workman’s comp does an NFL player actually make if they’re injured? Is it NFL type salary or just regular benefits like some cat at McDonalds? If they’re getting regular pay then pay those dudes! If they’re getting millions then screw em they can save and invest like everyone else.

Players’ salaries take into account the limited time frame of their careers, as well as the susceptibility to injury. It seems absurd to pay any athlete an additional $56,000 per year for the twenty-five or thirty years beyond any expectation that they would have still be employed in that very lucrative, yet very fleeting, occupation.
