Univ. of North Dakota Sued for Discrimination by Former Women’s Hockey Players

    Seems rather odd in regards to Title IX. You would think women’s hockey would be retained because the larger number of participants enhance the female/male scholarship ratio.

    I know the expenses for a hockey team are higher than say basketball, but they should be able to offset many of them with the success of the UND men’s team. The arena and practice facilities are already there, and it wouldn’t take much to get equipment companies to sponsor the women’s team as part of the contract for the men’s team.
