Governor Orders Probe of Failed Michigan Dams

    The governor better be careful what she wishes, err orders for. It may come back that it is partially the executive wing’s fault. As worried as she was about the roads during her campaign, I don’t recall her ever mentioning water and flood control as an issue. When pressed on how she was going to fund the roads project she walked away from the reporter like I can’t believe you would ask that. Like she does today with the pandemic she just defers to ‘experts.’

    It’s not that hard to figure out that this was a colossal failure of the government and the private sector not working together for the common good. In this instance, the state could have helped arrange financing for the necessary repairs or restructuring necessary to shore them up. Instead, in their nastiness, it appears they sued them just weeks before the flood, for common sense water level precautions they took during a very wet 2019 and other year. Now all the mussels they were suing over are gone.
