What does the first sentence have to do with anything?????

    “. . . pro-Trump governor . . .”

Can’t the governor have his OWN opinion? Are Gavin Newsom and Governor Cuomo EVER described as “pro-Biden” governors when their states are being discussed regarding Covid 19?

Geez. TDS gets funnier and funnier.

And someone might inform the writer that opening schools is considered the wise HEALTH choice by the American Pediatric Association, the CDC, and many others. It isn’t some stupid binary choice between good and evil, between “economics and health” as the writer states so mindlessly.

You can’t get around the fact that you and your political party want kids back in schools at the cost of human life. We’ve talked about this, children will die because of this policy. But then, Republicans have shown time and time again to not care about children, so no one’s surprised.

I still say instead of forcing people back to work and kids back to school, we just kill the top 3,000 richest americans and use that money to pay for everyone to have excellent healthcare and to stay home until the crisis is over.

Oh, we can’t just kill people to keep the economy going? Glad we agree. Keeping the schools open is ridiculous and evil and we all know it, only the republicans keep trying to pretend it’s anything but.

          washingtonpost.com/education/2020/07/13/trump-administration-cites-american-academy-pediatrics-make-its-case-school-reopening-heres-what-aap-really-said/

I can read, can you? This is why you never post links to your claims, because you lie, Craig.

The AAP joined with three other groups — the American Federation of Teachers, the second-largest teachers union in the country; the National Education Association, the largest union in the country; and AASA, the School Superintendents Association — in issuing a statement about the reopening of schools that was clearly aimed at Trump and DeVos.

Reopening schools in a way that maximizes safety, learning, and the well-being of children, teachers, and staff will clearly require substantial new investments in our schools and campuses. We call on Congress and the administration to provide the federal resources needed to ensure that inadequate funding does not stand in the way of safely educating and caring for children in our schools. Withholding funding from schools that do not open in person fulltime would be a misguided approach, putting already financially strapped schools in an impossible position that would threaten the health of students and teachers.

They advised that kids need school, yes, but also that your administration isn’t doing it properly. Keep telling half the story, your dishonesty is apparent for all to see.

Our Governor is a woman, is a ditz, and follows Trump’s lead in just about everything, so that statement is totally relevant. I am embarrassed for and ashamed of our administration.

I live in Iowa and this is a serious topic right now. Our idiotic governor has stayed in lock step with our idiotic president. I know some parents who are opting to have their kids go full time from home. Guess what, that family also has a Tramp sign in their yard. This virus doesn’t have to be a political game piece. It’s about the health and well being of humans. We are being FORCED to take a hybrid approach. I don’t have any other option. I don’t want any of my daughters contracting this. Governor Reynolds will have more blood on her hands. She’s also the one who has forced some people back to work, stating, they will be ineligible for future unemployment benefits indefinitely if they don’t go back. I also know a couple scientists who are working with this administration and the testing. They told me the data is all off and the tests themselves are faulty. Reynolds is trying to save her own face and the face of the political party she cowers to. It’s simply disgusting.

Oh, whoa is you, Planet. A one man Certainty Factory. Waiting for the vaccine that may never arrive.

Better keep your daughters home forever. Car accidents, the flu, trip and fall accidents, food poisoning, poisonous snakes, sports injuries. Yep. Better hide from the world the rest of their lives.

Craig.. I guess you have no kids as you couldn’t find someone to procreate. I also live in IA with two school age kids and agree with Captain. Much of what you are addressing are accidents and you can avoid serious injury by taking precautions. Wear a seat belt (which is the law and I don’t see people complaining about “my constitutional right” not to wear one), get a flu shot, wear protective gear for sports etc. Here we have little direction from our state representatives and what we do get is not based on science. It is to appease her voter base and the Fed administration. The majority of parents, based on district surveys, want hybrid learning or full from home. Reynolds is just parroting the Fed and Trump to have kids go full time. Funny how it applies to others and not Trump. Just read that Barron’s private school is 100% online.. Go figure.

Just lost a lifelong family friend to COVID over the weekend, my dad’s best friend for almost 78 years and like an uncle to me. He also had COPD, so once the COVID hit him he didn’t have a chance. Went in to the hospital Monday, was gone by Saturday AM.

      RIP, Uncle George.
