TrueNorth Companies, a risk management and insurance brokerage firm headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has appointed Benefits principal and practice leader, Kyle Mertz, to the role of executive vice president of the Benefits division, effective Sept. 1.
Mertz will oversee the strategic direction of the division, including business development, innovation, and leadership and colleague advancement, all pointing towards maximizing the company’s benefits and workforce solutions.
Mertz has been in the insurance industry since 2006. He joined TrueNorth in 2012 with the merger of Frank Berlin & Associates.
Mertz is actively involved in the Greater Des Moines community, where he currently serves on the Altoona City Council and the executive committee of the Metropolitan Planning Organization. Mertz also sits on the board of directors for YSS and the Southeast Polk Education Foundation.
In addition to Iowa, TrueNorth has office locations in Colorado, Illiniois, Michigan and Texas.
