After 41 solid years of work, Nationwide Chairman and CEO Dimon McFerson has announced he’ll retire at the end of the year. His retirement comes as no surprise. He informed Nationwide’s board of directors of his intentions more than a year ago. A successor has not yet been named.
McFerson, 63, started his career with Nationwide in 1979, moving on to the CEO position in 1992. During his tenure as CEO, Nationwide’s assets have tripled.
