International Catastrophe Insurance Managers, L.L.C. (ICAT), announced the appointment of Gregory Kemp to regional vice president for the Gulf Coast and Eastern Seaboard. ICAT also announced the promotion of Cathy Schablitsky to regional manager.

Based in Charlotte, Kemp will be responsible for maintaining ICAT’s producer relationships in the region and developing new market opportunities. He has spent over 10 years in insurance marketing, most recently serving as a sales development manager for Fireman’s Fund. Prior to his tenure at Fireman’s Fund, he served as a regional marketing specialist for St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Company.

“Greg brings years of market experience and knowledge to ICAT,” said Jack Graham, Chief Executive Officer. “He is the primary link between ICAT and our Producers and we couldn’t be more pleased to have him join ICAT.”

Cathy Schablitsky, who previously served as an Assistant Underwriter for ICAT, was promoted to Regional Manager for the Gulf Coast and Eastern Seaboard Territory with general underwriting responsibilities. She will work in the Boulder office. Before joining ICAT, Schablitsky worked in underwriting for USF&G/St. Paul and in the personal lines department for Continental Insurance. She has also served as a Customer Service Representative for Hilb, Rogal and Hamilton.

“Cathy was instrumental in the success of our Florida Underwriting Team and, as the leader of our emerging markets underwriting team, is well suited to help launch these new states. Her broad insurance background and underwriting talents contribute to the entire Underwriting Team,” said William J. Smith, Chief Underwriting Officer and Senior Vice President.
