Gallagher Acquires Three Agencies

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has completed the acquisition of three agencies; Atlantic Risk Management Corporation, of Baltimore; Murphy Consultants, of Elgin, Ill.; and R.G. Speno, Inc. Insurance Brokerage, of Cupertino, Calif. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Founded in 1981, Atlantic Risk Management Corporation offers a full range of risk management, property/casualty, surety, group, health and life products to commercial clients with special emphasis on the construction and technology industries. Peter Marcelli, area chairman, and his staff will continue operations in their current location in Baltimore under the direction of John Stancik, Gallagher’s Eastern Regional Manager.

Since 1974, Murphy Consultants has specialized in group, health and life products and services for their private sector clients. Today, their office in Elgin provides benefit coverage throughout the Midwest. Michael Murphy, Area Executive Vice President, and his staff will operate out of their current location under the direction of Jim Durkin, President of Gallagher Benefit Services. R.G. Speno, Inc.

Insurance Brokerage has been providing commercial property/casualty, surety and risk management products for the construction industry since the mid-seventies. Ronald Speno, Area President, and his staff will continue to operate out of their offices in Cupertino under the direction of Thomas Gallagher, President of Gallagher’s subsidiary, Lamberson, Koster & Co.

Each of these entities will also be working closely with their respective Gallagher regional management team to provide the smooth integration of their respective firms and employees into the Gallagher group of Companies.
