InsureZone Readies MarketPortal Technology

October 4, 2000

InsureZone plans to implement Lexica.MarketPortal, a new application providing InsureZone’s business partners a gateway to the company’s new coast-to-coast online insurance marketplace.

MarketPortal is the first application to be implemented from the Lexica e-commerce platform that powers InsureZone’s small commercial and personal lines marketplaces. With MarketPortal, an organization can define a private label consumer front end, including data-entry screens and static content according to its corporate look and feel, using XML.

The MarketPortal provides a set of extensible GUI controls, full support for client-initiated XML transactions, single-site sign-on support, a data validation library and an applet for cross-browser XML support. Lexica.MarketPortal will provide the customized connectivity to InsureZone’s implementation of Lexica.MarketPlace, which powers vertical marketplaces, and Lexica.MarketLink, a standalone integration technology that enables corporations to conduct transactions with a wide variety of marketplaces using a variety of protocols.

InsureZone offers policies from top-rated carriers, including The Hartford, Kemper, The St. Paul, and other major carriers. Business coverage includes business liability, property, workers’ compensation and umbrella liability insurance.

InsureZone’s plans to add builders’ risk, personal auto, commercial auto, homeowners and life insurance are underway. Currently, InsureZone provides multiple quotes and policy binding in one business day. Soon, InsureZone will provide customers quotes and binding online in a single visit taking 15 minutes.
