The NeighborWorks National Insurance Task Force (NIFT) has a full schedule planned for its annual symposium on Oct. 18 at the Tampa Marriott Waterside in Tampa, Fla. The symposium will address innovative methods for the insurance industry and community organizations to work on making insurance more accessible and affordable for lower-income homeowners.
Topics of discussion include loss prevention, financial services modernization and the use of credit scoring and insurance underwriting. Sponsors include Nationwide, State Farm, Travelers, Liberty Mutual and SAFECO. The symposium is part of Neighborhood Reinsvestment Corporation’s National Training Institute, which provides training to staff and boards of public- and private-sector orgaizations involved in the effort to improve the quality of community life.
The NIFT is composed of insurance companies, trade associations and regulators; educational institutions; the Neighborhood Reinsvestment Corporation; and the members of the national NeighborWorks network.
