Bill McElroy has joined Kemper Environmental as president. He will report to Charlie Abruzzo, executive vice president of Kemper Casualty Company, responsible for Kemper Environmental. McElroy brings more than 15 years of environmental insurance experience to Kemper.
His most recent position was with Zurich-American Specialties, where he served as vice president of their Environmental Specialty Group in New York. McElroy’s prior work experience includes a position as an appointed member of the Task Force of Lead-Based Paint Reduction and Financing, Washington, D.C., and senior underwriter specialist, Environmental Impairment Liability Commerce & Industry Insurance Company, New York, N.Y.
His publications include Environmental Insurance in the Brownfields Transaction, Chapter 11 in Brownfields: A Comprehensive Guide to Redeveloping Contaminated Property and The Environmental Liability Gulf?: Oil & Gas v. Insurance Industry Experience published in Petro-Safe ’93.
