The St. Paul Cos. president of international insurance operations, Mark Pabst, has retired. His responsibilities will be split between Kent Urness, 52, formerly head of the company’s European insurance operations and now senior vice president and global specialty practice leader, and Michael Schell, 50, president and chief operating officer of global reinsurance.
Urness will assume responsibility for the company’s primary insurance operations outside the United States, currently in 15 countries. He will maintain offices in London and Saint Paul. Schell will assume responsibility for The St. Paul’s Lloyd’s of London operations.
