LeasingDesk.com, the first company to offer online renter’s insurance policies through partnerships with apartment owners, has expanded its coverage area to 10 states and the District of Columbia, with 12 more states in the final approval process. The insurance offering e.RenterPlan, provides renters the option of personal property and/or liability coverage for a low monthly premium.
e.RenterPlan is currently available in Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Virginia, and are awaiting approval to operate in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Utah and Washington.
LeasingDesk.com’s president and CEO, Dirk Wakeham stated that the real benefits to property owners occur when 100 percent of their residents are covered by renter’s liability insurance. The apartment industry is the only marketplace in which this risk is assumed, by default, by the property owner/manager.
