American Re Appoints New Senior Management Team in Strategic Business Units

American Re-Insurance Company announced the appointment of a new senior management team to direct the five Strategic Business Units of its U.S. property casualty underwriting operations, as well as the appointment of chief underwriting and chief marketing officers.

Dominic J. Addesso was named President of American Re Direct Treaty, which provides, directly to U.S. insurance companies, traditional and finite risk reinsurance products and services on a treaty basis. Since joining American Re in 1997, Addesso has held various positions and most recently served as senior vice president responsible for regional markets in American Re’s direct U.S. insurance company operations and as senior vice president in American Re Financial Products, overseeing all financial reinsurance business and certain capital market activities.

Kevin Davidson was appointed president of American Re Direct Facultative, which provides, directly to U.S. insurance companies, traditional, finite risk and capital markets reinsurance products and services, on a facultative basis. Davidson has held various positions within American Re since he was hired in 1979, including vice president of National Accounts.

M. Steven Levy was appointed president of American Re Credit, which provides surety, credit enhancement and bonding products to both insurers and non-insurers. Levy joined American Re’s Financial Products division in 1997 and most recently managed the company’s Credit Enhancement group.

William J. Moll will continue to serve as president of Munich-American RiskPartners, which serves the global alternative market by providing insurance and reinsurance products and services to mid-sized to large companies, public entities, non-profit organizations and other self-insurers through captives, risk retention groups, risk retention pools and other self-insurance mechanisms. Moll joined American Re in 1990 and was named president of Munich-American RiskPartners in 2000.

Stephen J. Morello was appointed corporate chief underwriting officer, responsible for management and oversight of underwriting activities of American Re-Insurance Company. Previously, he was chief underwriting officer, responsible for overseeing Treaty and Facultative Underwriting within American Re’s direct insurance company operations.

George H. Roberts will continue to serve as President of American Re Broker Market. This unit provides U.S. ceding companies, through reinsurance intermediaries, with a broad base of traditional treaty reinsurance and finite risk products. Before joining American Re in 2000 to expand and manage the company’s broker market business, Roberts was president of a reinsurance company, and before that headed Treaty Underwriting at American Re.

John H. Snyder was named chief marketing officer. Snyder will oversee all corporate marketing activities of American Re-Insurance Company. Since joining American Re in 2001, Snyder was senior vice president responsible for strategic planning, strategic investments, and American Re’s e-commerce development group, Am-Re Solutions.
